GET YOUR HANDS ON.......MITCHUMM INDUSTRIES

Robert Mitchum gets his hands on Simone Silva

Mitchumm shirt patterns

Mitchumm cuffs with mother of pearl buttons

Mitchumm Industries @ Capsule Paris 2012

The first time I got in contact with the brand Mitchumm Industries was at The Capsule Show, Paris. They presented a full range of shirts and scarfs all stone washed with BIO wash. All shirts come with 100% mother of pearl buttons. A cool detail on the shirt is that the last button is made in a red heart-shaped button (damn, wish I had a picture to show you). The brand is a tribute to California and the American actor Robert Mitchum, the brand was born in 1976 on the West Coast in Manhattan Beach near Los Angeles. started with some T-shirts and printed swimtrunks.  Since 1983 the collection is in Italian hands and expanded to a full range. Alessandro Tino melts the best of both worlds, the American roots and the "made in Italy" identity.

PRAY FOR RAIN

Parka by A/X Armani Exchange
Parka by RLX Ralph Lauren

Parka by GANT Rugger
Parka by Bottega Veneta
Parka by J.Crew
Parka by Victorinox

Great picture story in GQ February 2012 about "the" outerwear style for Spring 2012, Parka's.

"Can't escape crappy weather? Then make peace with it." Josh Bowman, tested out the theory that everything looks brighter if you dress for the occasion in Portland Oregan, home of the rain.

DON'T BITE JUST "BARK"

The Italian knitter called Bark is famous for it's Mongomery cardigan, often seen in Italy as an extra layer, sort of a coat instead of a cardigan.
Their philosophy is to celebrate identity, AND SAY IT LOUD. It's where the name came from. Identity has never been driven by fashion; instead it's driven by personal style, with individuality being the sign of the times. This is strength of character, this is modern and this is NOW. When fashion does not feel like a series of dictations from on high but communicates what's going on, it becomes something else: STYLE.

NOUVEAU PREP BY GANT RUGGER

Do you remember the picture I posted in December of the photo shoot in the Milk studio for the Gant Rugger Spring 2012 collection? Here are the results. Take a look at the Gant Rugger Spring 2012 "Nouveau Prep" collection. The collection takes American preppy style to the next level.

DENIM & SUPPLY, AMSTERDAM

Last year December, Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply opened their first stand alone store in Amsterdam. This 2 story building is packed with Denim & Supply Men & Woman. I'm still not really convinced about the products of Denim & Supply, but I really like the styling of the store. Great use of props and great styling of the merchandise. You can leave that to Ralph, they know how to do that in the best way. Come see it for yourself at Kalverstraat 55, Amsterdam

RUN FORREST RUN...NIKE CORTEZ

Nike Cortez, was born in the late 1960s, the first running shoe with the Nike Swoosh logo.
The real stardom came when the shoes hits the big screen, the moment Forrest Gump showed them off.
This summer the Nike Cortez is back in style and it's hard to believe that it's 40 years old. Pick your favorite color just from the shelve or make your own color combo with NikeID.

CHAD'S RESTAURANT TIP

In September 2008, Mama Shelter opened it's doors, this restaurant and hotel is designed by the famous designer Phillipe Starck. The location of the restaurant is in the heart of the Village Saint Blaise (20th arrondissement) a picturesque area of Paris, here you can still find cobblestone streets and ateliers.
The restaurant has a great mix of guest, young, hip and trendy people but also some older guests. Just like the chairs they use from old school chairs to Tolix chairs etc. The waiters are dressed in a great denim apron. The food is great I enjoyed a great steak and my friend an Iberico ham. It was a great night, great food, great atmosphere, friendly personal but I didn't get what that overage DJ and his freestyle buddies did there. Ps we got a great tip from the waitress for a drink and a dance......Favela Chic, that was awesome!!
